Summary

The article tilted as “Mind the gap: gender differences in global leadership self-efficacies” discusses the global roles and global mindset. The reviewed literature for the secondary data collection about the topic of study suggests that one having a global mindset can succeed in the global roles. This research study tends to examine the differences in terms of gender for investigating and finding data about global leadership self-efficacies.

The article has used the random sampling strategy where the authors used a random sample of 1187 managers rom 74 different countries. The random sampling strategy was used to overcome biasness and to make the research data more particular and authentic. In terms of scales, the researchers of the study used the global mindset inventory which was used to collect and record the responses from 1187 participants of the study.

The results of the study suggested that there are significant gender differences in global leadership self-efficacies where women showed stronger and greater global leadership profiles in terms of their passion to diplomacy, diversity and intercultural and cross cultural empathy. Contrary to that, men also possessed and showed the strong global leadership self-efficacies but those were in regard to cosmopolitan outlook, interpersonal impact and business savvy etc.

In the end of the article, the authors have suggested the implications of the findings as they have discussed that the findings of this study can be implicated for shared leadership in global contexts. The suggestions for implication of findings are not only limited to shared leadership but the article also offers suggestions regarding future researches.

Analysis

This research study and the article which discusses findings of the study can be said as an important set of findings where the authors have gone through the secondary available data to get the relevant results. However, the secondary data used and the literature consulted is not rich enough to address all important concepts and variables of the research statement. However, as the secondary data suggested that one needs to have a global mindset in order to succeed in global roles, the approach used for research data collection was good enough.

This can be said as an important research study where authors tried to investigate the gender differences in terms of global leadership self-efficacies and the random sampling strategy made it easier for the researchers to collect data in best possible manner.

The evaluation of the article makes it clear that selecting 1187 managers as research participants from 74 different countries was a very healthy and rich approach which makes the results of this study as worthy and valid. Besides, authors also used the Global Mindset Inventory which can be said as best present inventory to address the variable of global leadership self-efficacies and global mindset.

The results of the study have made it quite clear that the findings are important in terms of business because it was demonstrated that women hold stronger global leadership profiles in terms of diplomacy and diversity while the men hold this characteristic in regard to interpersonal impact etc. These findings can be used to conduct more researches in future and to implicate them for shared leadership etc.
