Five-forces model and a firm’s international business strategy
What is the relationship between the five-forces model and a firm’s international business strategy? Provide examples to illustrate your answer.
Let’s use this strategy while planning to launch the subsidiary of an international coffee provider in a new country. Firstly they would do an analysis of the competitors that already supply coffee in the country. Then they would make an analysis of which other companies are also interested I introducing a café in the same market. Then they would look at finding suppliers of coffee and other product. They would also need to do an analysis of the choices that are available to the buyers in the same market and how to attract them. The final factor that has to be analyzed in the five-factor model is the analysis of the substitute products. In this case they might want to look at Green Tea and Green Tea as a substitute.
