What are the key arguments against multinational firms promoting social and environmental objectives? Why are they important?
Many people think that multinational firms should be doing more to promote these objectives. One reason for this is because of all the money the multinational firms have. If they are generating profits that are much larger than other corporations or individuals, they should promote these objectives and the development so that the problems can be fix. This can benefit the multinational firm if successful. Also, multinational firms are in more than one country so they have the access to many different natural resources, and could make a bigger difference than a company that is solely based in one country. If the stakeholders in the company are strongly for certain objectives the firm will most likely support that to not upset any stakeholders. Multinational firms should focus on the environment and protecting it in every way possible.
