Summarize the DBA’s responsibilities for managing database structure.

The responsibilities of a Database Administrator fall into two categories:

1. Development Category: The DBA creates staff DBA function and decides the DBA group. Other responsibility is to form a steering committee and specify the requirements and user inputs and outputs. Then the DBA validates the accuracy of the database model. The final responsibility in this category is to validate the design of application components.
2. Operational Category: DBA manages the processing rights on each table and column in a database. DBA is responsible for adding or deleting a user to the database to ensure the security of the content of the database. DBA is also responsible for tracking any errors and bug in the database system and monitors its overall performance.
