List and explain the major policy areas on the current congressional agenda.

Two of the big issues in policy reform that the Congress is focused on regularly are Pension reform and Social security reform. Much of policy reform is based around economics, and the money that may or may not be available to seniors and older Americans is large issue. Pension reform is critical to the policy agenda of Congress because it determines the way that Americans choose their jobs and choose how to spend or save their incomes. This necessity to save or freedom to spend has a great impact on the economy overall. In terms of the way that Social Security functions, public policy agendas are focused on protecting seniors and the elderly, while navigating the difficult terrain of a troubled economy and a national debt that seems unmovable at times.
