This Study offers some really interesting insight. Conducted by Dr. Peter Kahn, he takes a looks specifically at human being’s need for nature. In this study Dr. Kahn monitored stress levels amongst adults and children when looking at real nature compared with a digital substitute (Such as Animal Planet tv show). Furthermore, Dr. Kahns personal reputation in the field offers a high level of confidence in the accuracy and ethical aspects of the research findings. I plan on using this study to validate claims I plan on making as far as the importance of nature in our lives. Supporting scientific findings that can speak to my point of view offer my paper a stronger foundation and message.

This article written by Jordan Smith, writer for Time magazine. Writes a provocative piece regarding how technology and nature interact today. Or rather, how we interact with nature through technology. This piece sheds insight onto the current state of America’s Pastoral Dream. By keeping the piece more general, I am able to draw more conclusions from this one source, offering value in the form of many creative ways to use this article.

Marx, L. (1964). The machine in the garden: technology and the pastoral ideal in America. New York: Oxford University Press.

Using this piece is not only sensible but necessary, as the book not only offers insight on many different time periods but through many different voices and lenses. This exploration of American culture and the pastoral idea not only offer very specific examples   of technology and nature, but also a more general framework of the times and cultures in discussion.

This book shed the much needed light on the impacts of technological tools on humans. The book has comprehensive discussion on how technology is utilized for human cognition amplification. There is a considerable amount of evidence available in the book about the positive and negative influence of technology on human intelligence. The book is a useful source to understand, how technology can be used to in different cultural contexts. The book is a collection of different scientific articles on the relation of technology and human intelligence and cognitive capabilities.

Arthur, W. B. (2009). The nature of technology: What it is and how it evolves. Simon and Schuster.

This book is a useful source as it provides an overview of the evolution of technology. There is profound discussion on what technology is and how it has impacted human life and nature itself over the last few century. Different technological advances have been discuses in depth. The theme of the book is an overview of how technology can give birth to new technologies and hence a new technological and how it keeps on rebuilding itself over the course of time. This book is a necessary source of historical scientific information to understand the nature of technology itself.
