Multinational Corporation
What is a multinational corporation? Why would a company want to be a multinational corporation?
A multinational is a company that operates in more than one country, international sales and a mix of nationality between managers and owners. A company would like to have a multinational reach because globalization and the emergence of emerging multinationals have brought prosperity to many undeveloped regions of the world as well as to developing companies. By developing globally, more revenues can be created, more partnerships can be obtained, more jobs will be provided in countries, and brand names can gain credibility.
Take McDonalds for example. They have nearly 35,000 restaurants located in 119 countries around the world. This means that not only do physical restaurants work, but they also operate supply chains to supply the beef and other products needed to ensure the smooth running of their sites (“Multinational corporations: an overview | Share The World’s Resources (STWR)”, 2017).
