Advantages and disadvantages of ERP

Enterprise resource planning or ERP is an information system solution that can manage all the department of a big company and make their processes efficient.

Some of its advantages are that it is used to optimize business processes. It makes the access to reliable information about system processes quick and easy.

Some its disadvantages are that it is a costly task to install the ERP. If the internal departments refuse to share information, ERP might become inefficient.

I think that for a cost of $100 million, an ERP would only be feasible for companies like Google, Facebook or Amazon. Not for companies less in volume than them.
