Identify some of the changes that were implemented in the car racing world to enable such a fast setup time (these include product design, having replacements available where and when needed, devoting human resources to the task, using automation, etc.). How can some of these same ideas be applied to many different setup tasks in companies.

There are different changes made in the racing industry to manage the races efficiently. These changes include both technical/technological changes and human resources changes. We need efficiency in the workplace as well. But I think that comparing it to a race would not be justified. I do think that we need productive changes in technologies and human resources needed in workplaces but the objectives of a race and an organization are totally different. A race is a few minute or few hours game and you need quick fixes, while on the other hand organizational improvement is a long term process that goes gradually.
