Define the term “Nikkeijin”

“Nikkeijin” is a term that refers to Japanese and their descendants who emigrated from Japan in the past. Hence “Nikkeijins” can be defined as ethnic Japanese communities abroad i.e. they do not include Japanese who live in Japan. In the early 1990s after majority of Brazilian-Japanese immigrants flooded towards Japan, the term almost lost its territorial or geographical meaning but it now refers majorly to the Japanese descendants who came back to Japan as unskilled workers.
