Reasons why Men desire more to return to their ethnic homeland than females

Reason One

Men desire to return to their ethnic homeland because in the receiving country, they are not the better contributors to the household. Women have more job opportunities and higher earnings compared to them which hurts their patriarchal senses of being financially dependent on their female counter parts in the immigrant society. They want to go back to their ethnic homeland to enjoy their patriarchal roles.

Reason Two

Due to more job opportunities for females and their higher wages, to contribute more to the family, majority women work extended hours due to which their men have to take care of the household (domestic labor). This is not what they have been doing in their sending societies. This thing also hurts their social sense of being dominant in their ethnic homeland.
