I am often confused between the words except vs accept, effective vs effective, now vs know and many more. I am confused due to their similar spelling patterns. With time, I have learned that I need to use these words in sentences and speaking their pronunciations in my mind to make a clear differentiation between these words. This has actually helped me and I have made considerable improvement as the number of confusing words is decreasing for me.
