Course Reflection

Determine the top-three (3) concepts or skills you learned in this course that you believe will be the most useful to you in your present or future professional career or education. Provide at least one (1) specific example to support your response.

This course has been amazing in introducing me to the concepts of statistics and especially to their usefulness in the day to day life. Following are some of the concepts that were of great interest to me.

The first concept that I would like to discuss here is hypothesis testing. This is concept that deals with hypothesizing the effects of some actions. This is more like predictions, that may or may not be corrects but the research that involves with the hypothesis will take into account the hypothesis. For example we can hypothesis that with education, there is a decrease in racial tensions between communities.

The week where we discussed the overall strategy to build an effective business model in order to both monitor / control changes in business process and predict future business performance for your company was also important for my future learning as I want to be a business person in the future and these different strategies would help me gain the confidence to be good at business.

Learning about Opportunity for Improvements (OFIs) was also great. This topic let me know the importance of continuously improving the business processes even if I don’t see a need at the moment I am looking for improvements.
